So, I have nicknamed Bobby, Stinky. See he found a badger den on the property and decided to roll in the “mud” near the den. Well, apparently this mud is the badger litter box. He was covered in badger muck. Into the bath for you little man. Well that did not work. I get home later that night and take the dogs for a right and this little guy stank! I am talking like raw onions and unwashed feet! We opened the window before everyone in the car was adding to the stench.

So we get home, and I give him another bath. I wasn’t around for the first one so maybe they were just to gentle. It is 10:30 at night and I am bathing a Jack Russell that hates water. Satisfied that the remaining stink was just wet dog, we both turned in for the night.

Morning comes, stretch, breathe, ahhhhh what is that stench. Bobby comes prances up and snuggles under my chin. So cute, right —– wrong! I swear the stench multiplied over night. Away to google I go. The basically suggest tomato juice. My Father in Law is about to go out and get fish and chips so I tell him about the tomato juice.

nnnn

As he comes home with fish and chips, I see no tomato juice. I ask him about it, Well apparently, he thought I was kidding. NO! Can’t you smell him? Well he gets close and takes a sniff in – I can see her nose hairs curl from half way across the room. “Oh, you weren’t kidding!”

nnnn

Anyway it is too late to do anything now so the only thing to do is ban Bobbie from my bedroom. This morning the smell is not as bad – either that or I am becoming immune to it. We pick him up, pass him around, everyone takes a sniff. They can still smell the badger remains but it is not nearly as bad. We decide to just let him air out and no tomato juice.

nnnn

So now that Stinky is settling, we are all sitting around at dinner. A piece of meat falls and Bobby and Queenie dive for it. There is no way Queenie will let Bobby win so they start fighting. They forget about the meat and the cat strolls over and steals it while the dogs are going through their shenanigans. As part of the fight, Queenie flings Bobby and he goes sailing across the room and right into the litter box! Stunned Bobby, rolls in it and then regains his balance.

Bath time, again.

I think it may be easier to just get him a collar with a built in air freshener, does anyone know if Febreze does this?
